Karrubi Says Meeting of Branch Heads Meant to Bring Positions Closer
Karrubi told the Mehr News Agency that the heads of the branches had discussed the fate of twin bills of President Mohammad Khatami, the upcoming Majlis elections as well as the recent threats against the country.
He said all the officials are eager to prepare conditions for the strong participation of people in the Majlis polls, stressing that the Thursday meeting was part of efforts to coordinate plans in that connection.
“These meetings undoubtedly have a positive effect in bringing the positions of the officials closer to each other,” Karrubi said. “This common position is also the concern of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as what would help arrive at a solution for people’s problems.”
